Hearing the hoots of pair of barred owls in the forest, I set out to try and find the nest so that I could hopefully grab a photo or two. Standing still for 3 hours as the hooting eventually stopped and the sunlight faded. I turned one last time to my right, and there sat the owl regarding me. It watching me for 10 full minutes before silently gliding away.
