CRIMEBABIES latest show NEW WAYS TO SCARE CHILDREN is a multi-sensory art and music exhibition that explores the fears of AI and its impact on creativity, art and tech, while simultaneously exposing its inevitable role within those mediums. Returning is a new and improved model of CURSED COMPUTER, as well as a generative screenwriting experience gone-wrong, animated visual projections, interactive sculpture, SMS conversations with a very questionable deity, an AI generated music video, an electronic music album constructed entirely from AI generated samples, and a live performance of the album on opening night, Friday, November 3rd.
This show dives deeper into the mystical quality that AI has taken on in society today. Rather than focus on the new technology as a functional set of tools, NEW WAYS TO SCARE CHILDREN presents AI utilized to meet emotional and spiritual desires– playfulness, storytelling, and song– by exploring humanity’s undeniable need to build lore, to create meaning out of chaos.
NEW WAYS TO SCARE CHILDREN debuts on Friday, November 3rd at Gallery 5 in the Art’s District of Richmond, VA, and will be viewable until November 26th.
