"Sun June makes regret pop in Austin, Texas.
Laura Colwell and Stephen Salisbury formed the band while working long hours in director Terrence Malick’s editing rooms, practicing in the office whenever Malick was out of town.
They worked with Dan Duszynski (Cross Record; Loma) and fellow Malick alum Will Patterson (Sleep Good) on their first set of demos before solidifying the current line up of Michael Bain on guitar, Sarah Schultz on drums, and Justin Harris on bass.
In 2017 they began working on Years with Evan Kaspar at Estuary Recording Facility, recording live to tape. Tony Presley of the Austin label Keeled Scales was living above the studio at the time, and first heard Sun June through the floorboards. He contacted the band soon after.
Years is a we’ve-been-broken-up-a-long-time record. It chronicles how loss—of friends, family members, and partners—evolves over time. It’s about trying to understand the past even if closure is elusive and permanence is hard to accept. Each song places you within some stage of grief. Simple phrases are open to many readings.
The ten songs aren’t weighed down or overly serious though. They’re filled with warm sounds and catchy melodies. Layered vocals and guitar lines float over spacious structures. 
Years captures the band in its early stages. They recorded everything live to tape and built from there, without losing the feeling of five people playing together in a room. No sound is overly polished or processed."

Abby Huston released their debut album “rich” in 2018 as an ode to their favorite Richmond bands. Each song features musicians from local bands including Vanilla Summit, The Hoodoos, The Hillwalkers, and VCU Jazz department, and was produced by Cameron Smith of Bonnie Chére. Live, Abby either plays guitar or with a
backing band of varying local instrumentalists. Although new to performing, they have traveled to play in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, DC, and New York in the past year. Their favorite acts to open for have been Shilpa Ray, Brian Dove and Crumb.

Hayden Arp makes music with the goal of creating moments of communion in the world. He was raised in Alexandria, VA, and attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, where he studied electronic music composition. He has performed in venues such as DC’s The 9:30 Club and New York’s Terminal 5. In August 2016, he released “In the Fading Light,” a song The FADER called “Tingling, gorgeous,” as well as “For Gabriel,” an EP ThrdCoast called “Beautiful and elegiac.” He has performed and worked with musicians such as Lucy Dacus, The Punch Brothers, and Aoife O’Donovan. He lives in Richmond, VA.
