After the surprise feature from MUTANT ACADEMY on the last RVA SHOWS and SLIMEHOLE hip-hop co-promotion, we jumped at the chance to host one of the founding members and RVA's most shining stars FLY ANAKIN to do a co-headlining set with fellow RVA ruler OHBLIV at Gallery 5! They both have quite the resumes and set ists on their own but also will be celebrating their collaboration "Backyard Boogie," a true anthem for the upcoming RVA Summer! They'll be joined by a killer diverse touring package featuring up-and-comers and city heroes like Massachusetts' AL DIVINO, upstate NY's BILLY ESSCO and Washington DC's absolutely amazing ANKHLEJOHN. As usual when you hear from Ohbliv or Mutant Academy you can damn well expect some surprise guests from RVA's stacked scene so show up to find out who bad!

FLY ANAKIN: A rising underground musician hailing from RVA, FLY ANAKIN is one of the founding members of Mutant Academy
and a pivotal component in the local rap circles. Fly's been
frequently recording music since 2008 and has no plans of
slowing down. Along the way, he's worked with countless
notable musicians in the likes of Freddie Gibbs, Ohbliv,
Nickelus F, Ras G, Smoke DZA, Blu, as well as his fellow
Mutant Academy members and been featured in The
Source, All Def Digital, XXL, Okayplayer, Mass Appeal,
Vibe, Pigeons & Planes and a veritable shitload of blogs and sites. Fly Anakin has released 16 projects and counting with no signs of stopping.

OHBLIV: OHBLIV is an up and coming music producer straight outta RVA and a key part of Just Plain Sounds, a Virginia based collective/label. Their style of instrumental production can be classified as tranquil, sub aquatic, soulful hip-hop. The sounds of 70s and 80s soul/funk music heavily influence Ohbliv's melodic instrumentals. Ohbliv has done frequent collaborations with fellow RVA hero, Nickelus F and released records on the legendary Fat Beats.
